Billy Taylor, was an American jazz pianist, composer, broadcaster and educator. He was recognized with many awards and blazed trails as an educator, artistic director for jazz at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. and host of nationally broadcast television interviews.
He performed and traveled worldwide as a jazz ambassador. Some of those with whom he worked and collaborated include other legends (e.g., Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Nancy Wilson, DeeDee Bridgewaters, and many others).
